Where is on-campus parking?
Parking
on campus is limited to those who have a special
permit issued by the Virginia Sesquicentennial
of the American Civil War Commission. A limited
number of parking spaces are available on a first-come,
first-served basis to those with a DMV-issued
disabled parking license plate or placard.
If
you are parking on campus, follow the directions
above, exit at 11B/Brambleton Avenue, then turn
right on Park Avenue at the first red light. NSU
is on your right - - enter at Gate 1. You will
be required to show your Commission-issued permit.

What time should I arrive?
Doors
open for check-in at 7:00 a.m. Please bring the
electronic confirmation slip that you received
when you registered online, along with your registrant
number. This day-long conference has a full
schedule, with events beginning at 8:40 a.m.
4.
Where will I eat lunch?
On-Campus:
A limited number of meal tickets will be available
for purchase at registration for on-campus dining,
including West Dining Hall, Scott Dozier Dining
Hall, New Student Center Food Court (Pizza Hut,
Chick Fil-A and Tropical Smoothie), or Spartan
Station (Market Carvery, Spartan Subs, and Coyote
Jacks). Meal tickets are $7.00 each (cash or credit
cards accepted). Those remaining on campus for
lunch are also welcome to bring a bag lunch.
Off-Campus:
A number of downtown restaurants will be offering
specials for conference attendees. Plan to catch
The
Net from Harbor Park to visit restaurants
and do a little shopping during the lunch break.

A

What is the Signature Conference series?
The
Virginia Sesquicentennial of the American Civil
War Commission is sponsoring an annual conference
series featuring the nation’s finest historians.
The series will focus on fostering broad public
understanding of different aspects of the Civil
War.
